MODULE 1 — Introduction to Electrical Machines

1.1 Electromagnetic Induction

$$ e = -N \frac{d\Phi}{dt} $$
$$ e = Blv \sin\theta $$
Where $N$ = turns, $\Phi$ = flux (Wb), $B$ = flux density (T), $l$ = length (m), $v$ = velocity (m/s).

1.2 Torque Development

$$ F = BIl \sin\theta $$
$$ T = F \times r = BIl \times r $$
Interaction between magnetic field $B$ and current $I$ produces force $F$.
